Age Sets the Price, Size Sets the Crew

The 125 costs more than the bigger 130 because it is newer. Every 125 for sale was built from 2018 on; the 130s for sale date from 2003 to 2009. The 125 asks $21,900,000 at the low end, $9,000,000 more than the most expensive 130 for sale. That premium buys the newest systems and interiors, gyro stabilization and, on Rennegade, MTU warranty into 2027.

The 130 is the most yacht per dollar. Its median ask of $10,950,000 is less than double the 112's $5,870,000, for 18 more feet, five staterooms instead of four and nearly twice the fuel. The trade is a larger crew: up to seven as listed, against four or five on a 112.

The 112 is the deepest market. 10 hulls for sale means real choice and clean comparisons between sisterships. It is also the easiest of the three to run, with eight guests and a crew of four or five. The Westport 112 buyer's guide explains how to choose between them.

Running costs follow size and value. The common rule of thumb is 8 to 10 percent of the boat's value per year, with caveats explained on the yacht ownership cost page.

Common Questions

Westport 112, 125 or 130?

What is the difference between the Westport 112, 125 and 130?

Size, age and crew. The 112 is the 34 meter series yacht for eight guests, built from 1998 and for sale today from 1999 to 2017. The 130 is the 40 meter series for ten to twelve guests, for sale from 2003 to 2009. The 125 is the newest of the three, with hulls for sale from 2018 to 2023 and ten guests.

Why does a Westport 125 cost more than a bigger Westport 130?

Age. The 125s for sale were built 2018 to 2023, while the 130s for sale were built 2003 to 2009. A near-new 125 asks $21,900,000 to $26,750,000; a 130 that is seven to twenty years older asks $8,450,000 to $12,900,000. Buyers pay for the newer systems, warranty and interiors.

Which Westport is the best value?

On price per foot the 112 is the entry to the line, with a median ask of $5,870,000. The 130 often gives the most yacht per dollar: the 3 130s for sale have a median of $10,950,000 for 18 more feet, more crew and nearly double the 112's fuel. Condition still decides every individual boat.

How many crew does each Westport need?

As listed: the 112s for sale carry four or five crew, the 125s four plus a captain, and the 130s up to seven. Crew numbers shape the running budget as much as the asking price does.

Which Westport has the longest range?

The 130 carries the most fuel, close to 9,900 gallons against about 5,500 on a 112. Listed ranges are closer than the tanks suggest: 130s for sale list 1,800 to 2,500 nautical miles, and the Westport 112 Bravo Zulu lists 2,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. Range depends on speed, so ask for each boat's fuel burn at your cruising speed.

Which Westport should I buy?

For eight guests and the deepest choice of hulls, a 112. For ten to twelve guests, longer passages and a larger crew, a 130. For a near-new yacht with warranty and modern stabilization, a 125. Greg sells all three and will tell you which hulls are worth seeing.

Choosing between Westports?

Greg Gaus spent seven years selling Westports inside the builder and has closed the line from the 112 to the 164. He represents you through survey, sea trial and closing. On a brokerage purchase the commission is paid by the seller.
