Viking 92 · Model Guide
Ninety-two feet of Viking, 31 knots on twin MTU power, and five staterooms. The bridge configuration is what separates the asking prices, and this page explains which is which before you start comparing.

The same hull is sold in several bridge configurations, and that choice is the single biggest reason otherwise comparable 92s carry different numbers. Work out which one you are looking at before you compare asking prices.
| Configuration | What it is | Who buys it |
|---|---|---|
| Convertible (92C) | Open flybridge helm | Tournament programs: visibility over the cockpit, less weight up high |
| Enclosed Bridge | Helm enclosed behind glass, air conditioned | Long passages and family use; the boat runs comfortably in weather |
| Skybridge | Upper helm added above an enclosed bridge | Owners who want both: shelter below, open command position above |
A listing that says only “Viking 92” is not telling you enough. Ask for the configuration, then ask what was done to the bridge since launch. On boats this size an enclosed bridge refit is a serious number, and a well-executed one is worth paying for.

At 92 feet the Viking stops being a big sportfish and starts being a small ship that happens to do 31 knots. Five staterooms, six heads, quarters for four crew, and just over 4,000 gallons of fuel mean the Bahamas and the Caribbean are weekend decisions rather than planned expeditions. The MTU 16V2000 M96L pair is the same family of engine you find in the current Westport 40 Meter, which tells you something about where this boat sits.
Greg’s sold archive runs the Viking range from the 45 Open up to a Viking 90, so the 92 sits at the top of ground he has actually covered. He spent 20+ years running boats before he sold them, which is the difference between reading a spec sheet and knowing what a tired one feels like at 23 knots in a head sea.
The number everyone quotes is main engine hours, and on its own it is close to meaningless. What matters is the service record behind those hours, and the ratio of generator hours to main engine hours. A wide gap means the boat lived at the dock with everything running: air conditioning, electrical systems and accessories age far faster that way than they do offshore.
After that, on this model specifically: tower and outrigger condition and how they were mounted, whether the electronics suite has been kept current or patched around a failure, stabilizer behaviour under load rather than at rest, and whether the boat was run by paid crew or by an owner on weekends. A 92 can be made to look new for the price of paint and soft goods. None of that touches what actually costs money to put right.
On the brokerage market a Viking 92 trades in the mid-to-high seven figures. As of September 2026 the 2016 Viking 92 Enclosed Bridge “Speculator” is asking $7,595,000 in Palm Beach, and the 2017 Viking 93 Motor Yacht “Obsession” is asking $5,250,000 in Stuart. Bridge configuration, engine hours and refit history move the number far more than model year alone. Asking prices are not sold prices, and the gap is where a buyer’s broker earns his keep. For the wider range across every Viking model, see the Viking price list by model.
One hull, three ways of running it. The convertible carries an open flybridge, which is what tournament crews want. The enclosed bridge puts the helm in air conditioning behind glass, which suits long passages and family use. The skybridge adds an upper helm above an enclosed bridge. The configuration is the single biggest reason two otherwise identical 92s carry different asking prices.
92 feet (28.0 metres) length overall, about 174 gross tons, GRP hull. Five staterooms for ten guests with six heads, plus two crew cabins sleeping four. Around 4,015 gallons of fuel and 450 of water.
Roughly 31 knots top and 23 knots cruise on twin MTU 16V2000 M96L diesels rated 2,635 hp each. Genuine sportfish performance at 92 feet: leave Fort Lauderdale after breakfast, fish the Bahamas the same morning.
No, and it matters when you are comparing prices. The 93 is a motor yacht rather than a sportfish: lower-rated MTU 12V2000 M96L power, about 23 knots top instead of 31, and a different brief entirely. Both show up when you search for a 92-foot Viking, so check which one a listing is before you read anything into the asking price.
